马华文化中乌斯曼阿旺现象的演变（1955-2021）

摘要

乌斯曼阿旺（Usman Awang, 1929-2001）是著名马来诗人、小说家、剧作家，同时也是50年代以降重要的马来左翼知识分子。由于政治信念、文学信仰与大马华人颇为相近，因此他也广受大马华人喜爱。本文延续庄华兴的说法，视之为“乌斯曼阿旺现象”。本论文将尝试讨论此文化现象的各种问题，其中关键是：人们为何与如何理解和翻译乌斯曼阿旺？论文分两个时期、三个部分，包括冷战时期（一）左翼与乌斯曼的关系、（二）自由派刊物《蕉风》的译介；冷战结束之后，（三）国内国外文人如何把乌斯曼打造成马中友好关系代言人以及华族之友。

Abstract

Usman Awang (1929-2001) was a renowned Malay poet, novelist, playwright, and a significant intellectual figure among the Malay left-wing writers after the 1950s. Due to shared political beliefs and literary ideologies with Malaysian Chinese, he also gained popularity among the Malaysian Chinese community. This paper, following the perspective of Chong Fah Hing, considers it as the "Usman Awang Phenomenon." This thesis aims to discuss various aspects of this cultural phenomenon, with key focus on: why and how people interpret and translate the works of Usman Awang. The paper is divided into three parts, covering the Cold War period: (1) the relationship between the Mahua leftists and Usman Awang，(2) the translating of Usman Awang in the liberal publication of Chao Foon; after the end of the Cold War，(3) how domestic and foreign translators translating Usman Awang's works to enhance and consolidate the relationship between Malaysia-China and Malay-Chinese in Malaysia.
