摘要

长期以来，冷战叙事多聚焦于左右两大阵营的宏观对立，较少关注其中错综复杂的中间地带。本文从微观视角切入，以新加坡戏剧先锋林祖备（Lim Chor Pee,1936-2006）1959至1966年间的文艺实践为个案，探讨东南亚文化冷战中多元主体的交错互动，揭示超越社会主义与资本主义二元对立框架的灰色地带。研究通过档案、访谈、报纸等材料，追溯20世纪50至60年代冷战时期，政治力量如何介入新加坡文化场域，扶植第三方中介者，进而影响艺术创作的路径；新加坡艺术创作者又是如何在全球大国间的权力对抗、本地去殖民情绪高涨的复杂局面中，不断调整方向探索个人艺术追求的过程。

Abstract

For a long time, Cold War narratives have predominantly focused on the macro-level confrontation between the two opposing ideological blocs, paying less attention to the intricate and multifaceted middle ground. This paper adopts a micro-level perspective, using the artistic practice of Singaporean theatre pioneer Lim Chor Pee (1936–2006) between 1959 and 1966 as a case study to explore the intersecting interactions among diverse actors in the cultural Cold War in Southeast Asia, revealing a grey zone that transcends the binary framework of socialism versus capitalism. Drawing on archival materials, interviews, and newspapers, the study traces how political forces intervened in Singapore's cultural sphere through covert means, fostering third-party intermediaries to influence artistic production pathways. It further examines how Singaporean artists navigated the competing dynamics of state co-optation and the surge of local anti-colonial sentiment, continuously adjusting their direction in pursuit of personal artistic aspirations.
